Do We Proclaim God's Works? Praise Him!
3 min read, approximately

“For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament showeth his handiwork. Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night showeth knowledge.” (Psalms 19:1-2)
As we know, the heavens contain the sun, the moon, the planets, the celestial bodies, the stars, and even shooting stars… And all of them praise the Lord! (Psalms 148:1-14)
But What Is Praise?
“Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.” (Hebrews 13:15)
The Fruit of Lips That Acknowledge His Name?
“And they sang one to another in praising and giving thanks unto Jehovah, [saying], For he is good, for his lovingkindness [endureth] for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah was laid.” (Ezra 3:11)
Singing?
“Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp.” (Psalms 149:3)
Dancing?
“And Ezra blessed Jehovah, the great God; and all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with the lifting up of their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped Jehovah with their faces to the ground.” (Nehemiah 8:6)
We Can Begin by Remembering the Blessings We Have Received from His Hand and Telling Everyone about Them
“[A Psalm] of David. Bless Jehovah, O my soul; And all that is within me, [bless] his holy name. Bless Jehovah, O my soul, And forget not all his benefits:” (Psalms 103:1-2)
Praise him! For everything that exists was created by the Lord.
“for in him were all things created, in the heavens and upon the earth, things visible and things invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers; all things have been created through him, and unto him;” (Colossians 1:16)
Praise him! For you and I are part of that creation, here to worship the King of Glory. So:
“Know ye that Jehovah, he is God: It is he that hath made us, and we are his; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” (Psalms 100:3)
And finally, praise him! For:
“For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament showeth his handiwork.” (Psalms 19:1)
Within the heavens is planet Earth, and on planet Earth are you and I… If you and I consider ourselves part of those heavens…
Just as the heavens do… do you and I proclaim God’s works? Do we give him praise?
