Does the Holy Spirit guide us?

Romans 8:11-14 (Holy Spirit)
“If the Spirit of the one who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, the one who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you. So, brothers and sisters, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the flesh, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.”
God’s Word teaches us that the Holy Spirit is a wonderful person who:
\1. Has intellect and knows everything…
“For who among people knows a person’s things except the spirit of that person within him? Likewise, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. We have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who comes from God, so that we may know what God has granted us. We also speak of these things, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual things in spiritual terms. But the natural person does not perceive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them because they must be spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:11-14)
\2. Can love…
“I urge you, brothers and sisters, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to help me by praying to God for me.” (Romans 15:30)
\3. Dwells in us…
“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16)
\4. Helps us in our weaknesses and intercedes for us…
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to ask for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans beyond words. The one who searches hearts knows the intention of the Spirit, because he intercedes for the saints according to God’s will.” (Romans 8:26-27)
\5. Can be grieved and has also sealed us for the day of redemption…
“Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30)
\6. Is eternal…
“How much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse your consciences from dead works so that you may serve the living God?” (Hebrews 9:14)
\7. Is everywhere…
“Before a word is on my tongue, behold, LORD, you know it all. You surround me behind and before and have placed your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high for me to comprehend. Where shall I go from your Spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?” (Psalms 139:4-7)
Yet he has a particularly beautiful characteristic… he guides us!
Our Lord Jesus Christ had said,
“… It is for your benefit that I go away, for if I do not go, the Comforter will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.” (John 16:7)
“But when the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth, for he will not speak on his own, but will speak everything he hears and tell you what is to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and make it known to you.” (John 16:13-14)
Now the Holy Spirit dwells in us!! (2 Timothy 1:14) That is right!
So from today onward we can accept his guidance!
The Holy Spirit is given to:
\1. Those who receive Christ Jesus!
“So that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might reach the Gentiles, and we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (Galatians 3:14)
\2. Those who repent and are baptized in the name of Jesus Christ
“When they heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles: Brothers, what shall we do? Peter said to them: Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you, your children, and all who are far away, as many as the Lord our God calls.” (Acts 2:37-39)
\3. Those who obey him
“We are his witnesses of these things, as is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.” (Acts 5:32)
And 4. Those who ask the heavenly Father for him
“If you, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?” (Luke 11:13)
Do we want the Holy Spirit’s guidance? Then… to which group do we belong?
