The Lord says, ‘I have not forgotten you’

“Can a woman forget the child she bore and have no compassion on the child of her womb? Even if she forgets, I will never forget you.” (Isaiah 49:15)

Throughout our lives, we may have invested our strength and trust in people we thought would stand by us unconditionally. Looking back, we see childhood friends, school friends, friends from our teenage years, relatives, and others who may even have said they would be there when we needed them, but are no longer here today. Perhaps they grew bored, disappointed, or tired, saw us fail, and changed their minds… In short, it is not at all pleasant to feel alone, rejected, pushed aside… To feel forgotten… That is why today God wants to remind us of the following: 1. Jesus Christ does not change, and if he loves us, he loves us forever:

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

\2. When others did not believe in us and forgot us, Jesus forgave us, came to our rescue, and died for you and me:

“He died for all, so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died and rose for them.” (2 Corinthians 5:15)

\3. In our situation, the Lord will always be our light:

“But I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, my enemy, for though I have fallen, I will rise; though I dwell in darkness, the LORD will be my light.” (Micah 7:7-8)

\4. Jesus Christ expects us to shake off shame and rise, because there is still hope in him:

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. But God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond what you can resist; with the temptation he will also provide a way out, so that you can endure it.” (1 Corinthians 10:13)

\5. Let us hand the helm of our lives to the Lord and be calm, for the Alpha and Omega knows very well what he is doing:

“Commit your way to the LORD and trust in him, and he will act.” (Psalms 37:5)

Let us remember that while there is life, there is hope for us (Ecclesiastes 9:4). What do you say: do we give up, or get up and make an effort?

May God continue to bless you
and may you keep having an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
