“So that the greatness of the revelations would not exalt me beyond measure, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan to strike me, so that I would not become overly proud. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. He said to me: My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, I will gladly boast instead in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me.” (2 Corinthians 12:7-9)

We know that we have limitations and therefore weaknesses, and that accomplishing many things in our own strength would sometimes even be impossible… But as Christians we must understand that:

“The God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made by human hands, nor is he served by human hands as though he needed anything, for he himself gives everyone life, breath, and all things.” (Acts 17:24-25)

He is the one who gives us all things… We have power when we depend on God!! These are some of the walls that fall when we trust in the King: \1. ‘I have no job, I have no money…’: (Deuteronomy 28:1-14)

“The silver is mine and the gold is mine, says the Lord of hosts. The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts, and I will give peace in this place, says the Lord of hosts.” (Haggai 2:8-9)

Let us obey and believe that the Lord is our sustainer! \2. ‘I do not know how to do that; I do not think I can do it’:

“I will go before you and straighten the crooked places; I will break bronze doors and smash iron bars.” (Isaiah 45:2)

“I will give you understanding and teach you the way you should go; I will fix my eyes on you.” (Psalms 32:8)

“Call to me, and I will answer you and show you great and hidden things that you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)

He will teach us! \3. ‘I do not have the strength to do this; I am already old, and my body is no longer the same…’:

“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not lose heart, for I am your God who strengthens you. I will always help you; I will always uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

“Forge swords from your plowshares and spears from your pruning hooks; let the weak say: I am strong.” (Joel 3:10)

“Then he answered and said to me: This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by an army, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” (Zechariah 4:6)

If we believe in the Lord, we will understand that in him we are renewed and will receive new strength! So let us remember that if the Mighty Giant is with us, he and we are the majority! Let us never forget that the Lord tells us: ‘My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’
