Revelation 3:15-16 (Repentance)
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. If only you were cold or hot! But because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth.”

When a person comes to know who the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are, there must be a change… Let us see what the Bible says:

“So if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

A real and genuine change

“Therefore, repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away and times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord” (Acts 3:19)

With deeds worthy of repentance

“Instead, I declared first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout the land of Judea, and to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing deeds worthy of repentance.” (Acts 26:20, Matthew 3:8)

God will never want us to be lost

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some consider slowness, but is patient with us, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

But we must also understand that this is not a game

“Or do you despise the riches of his kindness, patience, and forbearance, not knowing that his kindness leads you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4)

Therefore

“Do not be deceived; God cannot be mocked: for whatever a person sows, that they will also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)

So, if we say we know God, that we are Christians, and keep up that appearance… Who do we think we are deceiving?

“…If only you were cold or hot! But because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:16)

So, if we are playing games with the Lord, let us truly repent from the heart and:

“Therefore bear fruit worthy of repentance” (Matthew 3:8)
