Hebrews 4:12
“For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

When we say that someone or something is effective, what we are trying to express is that they have the ability to achieve an objective or purpose, producing the expected result in the best possible way.
And yes, let us not be surprised: addictions, lies, illnesses, family problems, and everything we face day after day have a solution, an effective solution with no expiration date… It is God’s Word!

However… When was the last time we took a look at it? Right now, where is our Bible?

Come, let us learn a little about God’s Word together

Did we know that God’s Word:

\1. teaches us that what God says, God does and fulfills

“God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19)

\2. endures and will not pass away

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)

“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever.” (Isaiah 40:8)

\3. guides us

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105)

\4. is what young people need

“How can a young person keep their way pure? By keeping your word.” (Psalms 119:9)

\5. nourishes us

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4)

\6. teaches, instructs, and reproves us

“Every scripture inspired of God [is] also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness: that the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

\7. is effective

“so shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

\8. is perfect, just, and a true delight

“The law of Jehovah is perfect, restoring the soul: The testimony of Jehovah is sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of Jehovah are right, rejoicing the heart: The commandment of Jehovah is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of Jehovah is clean, enduring for ever: The ordinances of Jehovah are true, [and] righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the droppings of the honeycomb.” (Psalms 19:7-10)

\9. is clean and pure

“The words of Jehovah are pure words; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, Purified seven times.” (Psalms 12:6)

\10. is eternal and firm

“Forever, O Lord, your word remains in the heavens.” (Psalms 119:89)

\11. gives us discernment

“Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the scriptures daily, whether these things were so.” (Acts 17:11)

\12. Oh! It is a tremendous wonder!

“For the word of Jehovah is right; And all his work is [done] in faithfulness.” (Psalms 33:4,6)

\13. trains us in wisdom and prudence

“Every one therefore that heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, shall be likened unto a wise man, who built his house upon the rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon the rock.” (Matthew 7:24-25)

There are many more, but the above is enough for us to ask… Do we believe there are more than enough grounds for God’s Word to be living and effective?
Then let us stop wasting time looking for solutions outside it; let us dust it off and find out for ourselves!
