Living with a limp?
6 min read, approximately

“And there came a man from Baal-shalishah, and brought the man of God bread of the first-fruits, twenty loaves of barley, and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat. And his servant said, What, should I set this before a hundred men? But he said, Give the people, that they may eat; for thus saith Jehovah, They shall eat, and shall leave thereof. So he set it before them, and they did eat, and left thereof, according to the word of Jehovah.” (2 Kings 4:42-44)
Equipped to be more than conquerors!
Many of us know that we have an extremely powerful God (Revelation 1:8 PDT), who knows no impossibilities (Jeremiah 32:27), and that his help, love, forgiveness, and miracles are available to us—yes, still active and present! (Matthew 24:35).
Furthermore, we know that praying, fasting, and meditating on God’s Word nourish us and show us a clear path for growing in our spiritual lives! (Luke 2:36-37; Ezra 8:23). And yes, here I go again: we learn many of these things by attending church (Hebrews 10:25), because that is where we hear God’s Word and then gain faith (Romans 10:17). This faith reminds us again and again that with God it is possible to walk, arrive, and win! (Hebrews 11:1; Matthew 17:20; Hebrews 11:6; Ephesians 6:16).
Leaving all our equipment at home… to walk with a ‘limp’?
Despite knowing all these things, we prefer to limp at the church door… In what way?
\1. Does going to church become a habit while our minds remain outside, occupied with worries?
“And these in like manner are they that are sown upon the rocky [places], who, when they have heard the word, straightway receive it with joy; and they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway they stumble. And others are they that are sown among the thorns; these are they that have heard the word, and the cares of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.” (Mark 4:16-19)
You know? It is time to understand that we must
“and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength.” (Mark 12:30)
And whoever loves the Lord does not want to miss any of his words, and therefore pays very close attention!
“And those are they that were sown upon the good ground; such as hear the word, and accept it, and bear fruit, thirtyfold, and sixtyfold, and a hundredfold.” (Mark 4:20)
\2. Does ‘Pray for me’ become a habit while I forget that I am his child?
A child has accepted and believed in Jesus as their Lord and Savior:
But to those who accepted him and believed in him, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12)
(If you do not know how, pause and read here, otherwise let us continue)
“Jehovah, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him? Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?” (Psalms 144:3)
We are his children! Yes, remember that you are his child; therefore, you can approach without fear and speak with Dad
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith Jehovah, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope in your latter end. And ye shall call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
Now,
“In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” (Philippians 4:6)
That is right: our Father awaits our prayer, that intimate moment… Let us stop looking for intermediaries!
\3. Does begging others for blessings become a habit when we fail to realize that God has already blessed us?
“Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek Jehovah!” (Isaiah 31:1)
Why settle for a tiny portion when we already have access to the whole? We must understand that
“For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, [himself] man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for all; the testimony [to be borne] in its own times;” (1 Timothy 2:5-6)
It is not human beings; it has always been and will always be God! We must also understand that God has already released the following
“Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ: even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blemish before him in love: having foreordained us unto adoption as sons through Jesus Christ unto himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved: in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, making known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him unto a dispensation of the fulness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things upon the earth; in him, [I say],” (Ephesians 1:3-10)
There is no longer any reason to keep limping!
“casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
and finally,
“And my God shall supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Now unto our God and Father [be] the glory for ever and ever. Amen.” (Philippians 4:19-20)
May God continue to bless you
and may you continue to have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
