Homosexuality and Similar Practices
9 min read, approximately

“God created humanity in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said: Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, and every animal that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)
Preface
Today, people who practice homosexuality or similar practices share questions such as:
- Why do they not accept us as we are?
- Why do they not understand us?
Because of differences in thinking, this gives rise to countless discussions that accomplish nothing. Would it make any sense to encourage this or base this article on it?
Given this, dear reader, it would be appropriate to try to reach agreement by seeking a real, central, clear, concise, credible, truthful source with a solid foundation… I therefore propose the Bible because:
- It is the Word of God
- It can truly instruct us on this subject (Psalms 119:105)
- It seeks to correct us (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- In it we find what is best for us (Joshua 1:8)
- And beyond that, Jesus himself tells us that it will set us free (John 8:31-32).
Do we agree with the above? If so, thank you for your trust. Otherwise, all that remains is to remind you that the purpose of Sanidapp is to offer and share a Word from God with you in order to help you, not to point fingers at you or hurt you.
Searching the Word of God
Let us examine what the Word of God says about this subject:
\1. Male and Female as a Couple?
Yes, it was God who established the rules. Therefore, 2 women as a couple or 2 men as a couple cannot generate life. God established that only couples made up of a man and a woman can be fruitful and multiply naturally. How could this be possible while practicing homosexuality?
“God created humanity in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God blessed them and said: Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, and every animal that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:27-28)
\2. How Does God Classify Homosexuality and Similar Practices?
Abominable
“A woman shall not wear a man’s clothing, nor shall a man wear a woman’s clothing, for anyone who does this is an abomination to the Lord your God.” (Deuteronomy 22:5)
\3. Why Do Many Engage in These Practices?
Because They Go Astray in Their Reasoning
“For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for images resembling corruptible humans, birds, four-footed animals, and reptiles. Therefore God also gave them over to impurity in the desires of their hearts, so that they dishonored their bodies among themselves. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, honoring and worshiping created things instead of the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
For this reason God gave them over to shameful passions. Even their women exchanged natural relations for those contrary to nature, and likewise the men, abandoning natural relations with women, burned with desire for one another, men committing shameful acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.
And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them over to a depraved mind to do what is improper. They were filled with every kind of unrighteousness, fornication, perversity, greed, and wickedness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice; gossips, slanderers, haters of God, abusive, proud, arrogant, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, without natural affection, implacable, and merciless. Although they understood God’s judgment, that those who practice such things deserve death, they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.” (Romans 1:21-32)
\4. Has Any People Done This and Received Divine Punishment?
Yes
“As Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighboring cities, which likewise committed sexual immorality and pursued unnatural vices, were made an example, suffering the punishment of eternal fire.” (Jude 1:7)
\5. Does This Mean Those Who Practice These Things Will Not Enter God’s Kingdom?
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, effeminate men, men who lie with men, thieves, the greedy, drunkards, slanderers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10)
It is certainly clear that the Word of God teaches us that engaging in these practices is sin. However, after all the above, we might think there is no way out, BUT the Word of God teaches us that there certainly is!
The Rescue Operation
Notice that instead of rejecting us or using all his might to wipe out humanity because of so much sin, God, in his immense wisdom, established a wonderful plan…
“But God shows his love for us in that, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
Yes, That Is Right!
“God’s love for us was revealed in this: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.” (1 John 4:9-10)
It is a mistake to think God is excluding or rejecting us, that he does not understand us, or worse still, that he is condemning us
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but so that the world might be saved through him.” (John 3:16-17)
There Is a Way Out; There Is an Answer!
“Jesus said to him: I am the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
While sin offers death, God offers a great reward
“Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even though dead, will live. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die eternally. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
Situations
Are you engaging in these practices because:
\1. You Feel Disappointed With the Life You Lead?
It is God who:
“Said to me: Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak to you.” (Ezekiel 2:1)
\2. You Were Abandoned and Needed a Father’s or Mother’s Love?
God tells us today:
“Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will take me in.” (Psalms 27:10)
\3. You Were Abused and That Pain Is Eating You Up Inside?
It is God who longs for us to tell him what is happening to us
“While I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand lay heavily on me; my vitality turned into the dryness of summer. I made my sin known to you and did not conceal my iniquity. I said: I will confess my transgressions to the Lord; and you forgave the guilt of my sin.” (Psalms 32:3-5)
\4. You Were Belittled and Underestimated?
It is God who has given us incomparable worth and value
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired by God, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;” (1 Peter 2:9)
\5. No One Understands You, and They Only Point Fingers and Judge?
“Great crowds came to him, bringing people who were lame, blind, mute, maimed, and many others who were sick. They laid them at Jesus’ feet, and he healed them;” (Matthew 15:30). “When the Pharisees saw this, they said to the disciples: Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? When Jesus heard this, he said to them: The healthy have no need of a physician, but the sick do. Go and learn what this means: I desire mercy, not sacrifice. For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” (Matthew 9:11-13)
Would Jesus not want the same for us, simply because he understands us?
Conclusion
God himself extends an invitation to everyone in this situation who needs his embrace. Here is God’s embrace for you:
“But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. This is the word of faith that we preach: if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses unto salvation. For Scripture says: Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.” (Romans 10:8-11)
Look No Further
“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.” (John 15:1)
It is God himself who tells you:
“… I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my mercy toward you.” (Jeremiah 31:3)
Come,
“Call to me, and I will answer you and show you great and hidden things that you do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
And he will do it:
“Because you were precious in my eyes, you were honored, and I loved you…” (Isaiah 43:4a)
But:
“I rebuke and discipline all whom I love; therefore be zealous and repent.” (Revelation 3:19)
“Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be erased and times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,” (Acts 3:19)
What do you say? Remember:
“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with them, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20)
Do not leave him waiting outside too long…
