“For you formed my innermost parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise you, for your works are awesome and wonderful; I am amazed, and my soul knows it well.” (Psalms 139:13-14)

Surely many people have told us: “You are worthless”, “You are a nuisance”, “You are a mistake”, “You are good for nothing”, “You never do anything right”, “You are wasting my time”, “Get out of the way, you are only a child!”, “You are too old!”… In short… we have been despised and devalued.
“How short or tall they are! Life will be difficult for them!”, “Ugly”, “Stupid”, “Loser”… Hurtful words that only produce discouragement and sadness and make us ask ourselves… “Why was I born?”

Sadly, many even reach the point of taking their own lives because they believe they are nobodies, because they do not fit into society and think their birth was a mistake.
Have we felt this way? Do you know someone who is feeling this way?

Come on, repeat: I am a wonderful creation!

Yes, you! Repeat: I am a wonderful creation!

Why am I asking you to say this? Well, because long before I wrote this to you, the Lord has been telling us over and over how special we are…

Come, let us read what God’s Word tells us:

\1. We were formed as a great work of art by majestic hands

“For you formed my innermost parts; you covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise you, for your works are awesome and wonderful; I am amazed, and my soul knows it well.” (Psalms 139:13-14)

That is right! God took his time creating us with care and dedication because we are his work of art… I am a wonderful creation!

\2. Before we were born, the Lord established a plan, a purpose, a calling

“The word of the Lord came to me, saying: Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, and before you came out of the womb, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:4-5)

No, no, and no: we are not the result of an experiment. The Lord planned us, and here we are!

Yes, look at yourself and say it again: I am a wonderful creation!

\3. The Almighty equipped you and me! He blessed us!

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and blameless before him.” (Ephesians 1:3-4)

We have not been blessed with a little, or with half, but with EVERY spiritual blessing!

\4. When we were lost, he came to rescue us!

“The Lord appeared to me long ago, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my mercy toward you.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

“He who did not spare even his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also give us all things with him?” (Romans 8:32)

Can we imagine the magnitude of God’s immense love for us, that even when we were lost, God sent someone to rescue us… and Jesus was the one who paid the price for you and me?

\5. He offers us his unconditional love!

“For I am certain that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities nor powers, neither things present nor things to come, neither height nor depth nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)

\6. He calls us to be part of his Kingdom!

“But you are a chosen lineage, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people acquired by God…” (1 Peter 2:9a)

We are not what people say we are; we do not live by the world’s standard…

Come on, repeat: I am a wonderful creation, a wonderful work of the Lord… and I have a Kingdom standard!

Do we matter? From our innermost parts, everything we are, our whole being… we matter! Never forget it!
