We often begin our day full of energy. We leave home ready to take on the world, yet we forget that nothing in our daily lives is set in stone. It is incredible how, in the blink of an eye, our plans to conquer the world can turn into chaos in mere seconds. God’s Word says:

“Come now, ye that say, To-day or to-morrow we will go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain: whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. What is your life? For ye are a vapor that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” (James 4:13-14)

Yes… We do not control things, much less what happens around us! But the reason for this introduction is that I want to remind you that: - Our Lord is always in control:

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid: for Jehovah, [even] Jehovah, is my strength and song; and he is become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2)

-God is my ready help:

“For the Chief Musician. [A Psalm] of the sons of Korah; set to Alamoth. A Song. God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth do change, And though the mountains be shaken into the heart of the seas;” (Psalms 46:1-2)

- If we do not know what to do and ask for direction, God will guide us:

“But if any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” (James 1:5)

- Jesus is in our boat:

“And leaving the multitude, they take him with them, even as he was, in the boat. And other boats were with him. And there ariseth a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the boat, insomuch that the boat was now filling. And he himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion: and they awake him, and say unto him, Teacher, carest thou not that we perish? And he awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye fearful? have ye not yet faith?” (Mark 4:36-40)

So today, whom will you make Captain of your boat?

May God continue to bless you
and may you continue to have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
