Crazy? Yes, It Is Possible!

“Jesus said to her: Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” (John 11:40)

Philippians 4:13

This world is full to the brim with paradigms… and if we do not follow them, society definitely thinks we are crazy. For example: if we want to study and do not have a single penny, we must be out of our minds; if we want to start a business without formal education, we must be hallucinating; if we share our dream of playing with our grandchildren when we are infertile, people pity us and start making plans to take us to a psychologist… Does any of this sound familiar? Have people called us crazy for something we want to undertake that seems impossible in human eyes?

Even if the world rises up to call us whatever it wants, God’s Word reminds us today that our hearts need not fear, because God goes with us. In fact, God needs ordinary people like us to do extraordinary things… So welcome to the group!

Examples?

Let us look at these examples:

\1. David

What might people have thought of David for loving someone who wanted to kill him? (1 Samuel 24) What might Michal have thought of David when he danced with all his strength before God’s ark? (2 Samuel 5:12-23)

\2. Daniel

What might people have thought of Daniel when he was forbidden to pray, yet prayed to the Lord not once but 3 times, with the windows open? (Daniel 6:7-10) What might people have thought of Daniel and his friends when they chose to eat only vegetables and drink water instead of eating the king’s food? (Daniel 1:8-12)

\3. Noah

What might people have thought of Noah when they saw him building an ark? (Genesis 6:9-22)

\4. Paul and Silas

What might the prisoners have thought when they heard Paul and Silas singing hymns to God… at midnight, in the innermost prison cell? (Acts 16:23-25)

The Answer

All of them chose to believe! They understood that the way, the strategy, the resources come from God… the answer. So whatever anyone may say will never outweigh what God has already determined for us!
Yes! We believe in God! And we are no exception. We know he will answer us because we are his children and we have faith.
Are we crazy? Of course we are!

“For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; and if we are of sound mind, it is for you.” (2 Corinthians 5:13)

And beyond that, let me name one more:

\5. Jesus

What might Pilate have thought of Jesus when the guards told him, “He said: After three days I will rise again”? (Matthew 27:62-66) What might people in the synagogue have thought of Jesus when he said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven”? (John 6: 51-59)

“But how do you think you will achieve that? It is impossible!” Come on! Let us move forward! Let us pay no attention to those voices that do not help us advance… Let us not give up, because:

“I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)

We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16), and we can accomplish it with the help of his Holy Spirit (Zechariah 4:6).
Do We Believe It?
