“Jehovah reigneth; let the peoples tremble: He sitteth [above] the cherubim; let the earth be moved. Jehovah is great in Zion; And he is high above all the peoples. Let them praise thy great and terrible name: Holy is he. The king’s strength also loveth justice; Thou dost establish equity; Thou executest justice and righteousness in Jacob. Exalt ye Jehovah our God, And worship at his footstool: Holy is he. Moses and Aaron among his priests, And Samuel among them that call upon his name; They called upon Jehovah, and he answered them. He spake unto them in the pillar of cloud: They kept his testimonies, And the statute that he gave them. Thou answeredst them, O Jehovah our God: Thou wast a God that forgavest them, Though thou tookest vengeance of their doings. Exalt ye Jehovah our God, And worship at his holy hill; For Jehovah our God is holy.” (Psalms 99:1-9)

‘They called upon the Lord, and he answered them.’ According to the dictionary, to invoke means: ‘To call on another for help; someone who implores asks insistently, fervently, and with tears.’ The first place in the Word where calling on the Lord appears is (Genesis 4:26): ‘A son was also born to Seth, and he named him Enosh. Then people began to call upon the name of the Lord.’ Surely the reason was that:

“And Jehovah saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” (Genesis 6:5)

So, as in the past, we must keep in mind that:

“For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same [Lord] is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him: for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:12-13)

Are we in a situation that leaves us feeling desperate? Do we long for guidance and an answer?

“everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved” (Romans 10:13)

What will we do today?

May God continue to bless you
and may you continue to have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
